Occasionally I come across a model that is just so god damn sexy I just know I have to paint it! The trollkin war wagon is one of those beasts.
I’ve had the trollbloods on hold for a bit while I’ve been dabbling in Khador but I finally got my hands on a war wagon do its time to revisit the blue dudes.
Tonight I gave it the airbrush treatment and hopefully it won’t be too long before I can get this thing rolling across the battlefield. There be Skorne Titans to squish you know!
Boom boom! Trollkin War Wagon coming your way.
Posted: May 22, 2012 in Painting and Modelling, TrollbloodsThis Sunday saw Karchev out the box and facing off against Saeryn and eMakeda in a Moshpit scenario.
It was a very intense game that lived up to the billing with everyone getting stuck in right in the middle.
Eventually eMakeda emerged victorious having killed Saeryn herself and forcing her Titan Gladiator to put the boot into Karchev.
Two things I learnt from this game. Firstly the Bronzeback is a bit of a beast. In particular his counter charge rule makes him a fearsome adversary in a tight space like the Moshpit. Secondly timed turns are a must in a multiplayer game. All three of us learnt a lot by discussing the rules and various options but it took some of the excitement out of the game and took too long to allow a second game that evening. Nonetheless a lot of fun and looking forward to more in the future.
Had a game of Eden this evening against a friend playing Jokers. I have a partially completed Matriarchy gang so decided to give the girls and their slaves a run out.
It was interesting to play a second faction and the Matriarchy were fun. In the end the Matriarchy came out clear winners probably helped by the fact I knew my opponents force so well.
Having fallen in love with the mad magician of the Joker faction, I had to make him some special exploding rabbit markers.
A quick eBay search gave me the perfect model in the shape of Reaper Miniature’s Alice in Wonderland. Alice was put to one side and the rather diabolical looking March Hare took centre stage. The fact there are three identical ones, coupled with their chain watches, help to sell the idea these are the products of Grigoriys twisted penchant for fluffy wabbit bombs. Well, it does in my mind, but perhaps I am going a bit bonkers myself…..
The Jokers had an outing against the Bamaka this weekend. I decided to put Grigoriy in charge of the gang and he had a good game. His exploding rabbits softened up the Bamakas and he managed to take down Ngwane in the final moments to secure a Jokers win.
Ken’s Bamakas looked great on the table and it was nice to play another painted force. Looking forward to more Eden action soon.
I put some paint on the post Apoc terrain tonight. I thought it would be a good idea to lay out the pieces and see if I have enough for the ‘Evening in Eden’ and for an Infinity table.
The answer to the former is a yes. The picture below is a table and a half for Eden and packed with more stuff than necessary. Certainly enough for 3 plus tables of Eden action here. For the former question sadly its a no. The density of terrain seen here is about right for Infinity so probably about half of what is needed as it’s a 6 x 4 game.
Never mind. I’m not too worried as Infinity is on the back burner at the moment. It would be relatively easy to rustle up some more shacks and the odd silo. Those would act as space eating terrain and something I can look forward to in the future.
Next steps include painting the stacks of barrels, putting water effect on the toxic spills, and rubbing the salt off the various bits to give a quick and simple weathering effect. Great fun!
